The Carbon Registry is the central tool of the Sovereign Carbon Initiative. It enables:
- Obligated entities to record their emissions and track their contribution obligations.
- Voluntary actors to declare their commitments and showcase their offsetting efforts on carbon markets.
- All stakeholders to access transparent, verifiable information that complies with international standards.
The ASCR Foundation
Like all carbon agencies that have entrusted their registry to the African Sovereign Carbon Registry Foundation (ASCR Foundation), the SCA is a member. Supervision of the Djibouti Carbon Registry by this independent foundation ensures that recorded data, audits and certifications are overseen with neutrality, impartiality and independence, free from any public or private interference.
